Certification Process

Once you have completed integration with the Tyro Terminal via the Tyro Terminal Adapter software, the Tyro FileWatcher or the Tyro iClient, and have also completed your own system testing, you are ready to certify that your solution integrates correctly and can be deployed to customers.

When you are at the point where you would like to perform certification, if your POS software’s configuration supports it, the process that will be followed will be:

  • For TTA integrations you will be asked to login remotely to a Windows 10 Professional 64-bit machine (running in VMWare) and load your software. This machine will have connected to it a real Epson TM-T88V thermal printer which will be used to test that receipt printing is performed correctly.  OR
  • for browser/iOS based systems, you will be asked to provide us with access to your test environment
  • Once all of the software (both yours and ours) has been loaded/provided, you will be asked to demonstrate how the software works so that we may be able to perform the certification.
  • We will perform the certification by running through all of the relevant test cases, and will let you know of the outcome. If any of the cases fail, you will be given the opportunity to fix the errors, and a retest can be performed.

If your POS software’s configuration does not support loading and running on a virtual machine, alternative arrangements will need to be made. Please contact Tyro to discuss.

Once certification testing is completed successfully, the following will need to be provided before full certification can be granted:

  • A set of instructions that the Tyro customer service team may be able to refer to when they are troubleshooting a customers’ installation and would like to check that the POS is configured correctly.
  • Your support phone number must be provided to Tyro for the event that a customer needs to be referred by our customer service team to your customer service line.
  • An email adress where you can be notified upon the event that a merchant is successfully boarded (if relevant).
  • A copy of the POS system needs to be installed on Tyro’s systems so that our customer service team can familiarise themselves with the integrated solution and refer to it as necessary. This system will need to be updated as new versions of the POS software are released.

Requirement

Minimum Requirements

The minimum requirements for integrating with Tyro Payments are:

  • Purchase transactions (optionally with offering cash out)
  • Refund transactions
  • Integrated receipts (i.e. printing EFTPOS receipts via the POS printer)
  • Provide support for printing terminal reports via the POS printer
POS Information Within the TTA Log, POS details are provided e.g. Vendor & POS name, POS version number and site reference.

Other implementation requirements:

  • POS Vendor and Product information must be provided to the TTA when using the TTA (so that we can track the originator of all transactions)

Note on report printing: Not all of Tyro’s terminals terminals have an integrated printer attached so printing terminal reports needs to be achieved by other means. The Tyro Terminal Adapter (TTA) version 1.2.17+ comes with an app that provides access to the terminal reports as well as the ability to print the reports to an available Windows printer. A number of POS vendors do not make POS printers available via Windows printing (e.g. by using OPOS). If the printer is not available via Windows then the POS is expected to provide similar functionality via the POS system.
